Looking for things to do in Bayswater?

Look no further!  Bayswater is a largely residential area but it is really very close to a lot of popular areas.  Metro Storage has been offering state of the art self storage to local residents and businesses in the area since 2009 and we wanted to share what we think are the best 5 things to do in the area.

Starting at no 5 and working our way up to the no. 1 spot, below are just our take on what is good to do in the area – please let us know what you like to do as well and lets see if we can get a ‘Top 10 Things to do’ list together!

No 5

Bayswater is in such a great location – it is very close to all the transport links you could want (Paddington train station, Paddington, Bayswater and Queensway tube stations, buses – even the canal!); very close to all the main areas of Central London (West End / Soho / Notting Hill / Shepherds Bush / Kensington to name but a few) whilst being just far enough away to be peaceful and quiet if you want it!  A definite plus!

Bowling – everyone loves bowling, right?! Queens – one of the best set of lanes in central London as well as ice skating and eating and drinking – currently undergoing a bit of refurb it promises to be even better when re-launched in the near future.

No 3

Shopping – Bayswater has its very own shopping centre – one of the oldest in the country.  Whiteleys not only offers all the shopping you could need under one roof it also houses great restaurants and an 8 screen multiplex cinema.  Outside of this, there are lots of independent shops along the street which provide a very varied offering.  If you are based in Bayswater, you are only a couple of tube stops away from Westfield … surely that is every base now covered?!

Due to the truly multi cultural mix of residents in the Bayswater area, there is a wealth of international restaurants in the Bayswater area.  Popular are Lebanese, Moroccan, Italian, Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, Persian, British – the list goes on.  If you want really top dining, then The Ledbury is only a short walk away!

Our number one thing to do in Bayswater … is utilising Hyde Park which is right on your doorstep.  Hyde Park is the largest park in Central London and to have this within a 5 min walk is fantastic.  With its paths for running, walking, cycling, riding.  With its lakes. With its large open spaces for lounging on a sunny day.  With its concerts.  With its Winter Wonderland at Christmas etc. etc.  We think this is what makes Bayswater such a special place – we hope you agree!
